Freedom on the Line: The Romanian Revolution of 1989

The Ambassador of Romania to the U.S. and the President of the Victims of Communism Memorial Foundation, Ambassador Andrew Bremberg have the pleasure of inviting you to an event dedicated to the Romanian Revolution of 1989 that will take place at the Victims of Communism Memorial Museum located at 900 15th St NW, Washington, DC, 20005 on Friday, December 2, starting with 6 pm. Entitled “Freedom on the Line: The Romanian Revolution of 1989”, the event will open with a brief reception, will include a panel discussion and we will have a documentary about the revolution at the end – Rebels with a Cause, 2019, 55’.

The panel of speakers will include the following – with opening remarks from Ambassador of Romania to the US, Andrei Muraru and the Director of the Museum, Ambassador Andrew Bremberg:

  • Moderator: Dorian Branea, Director of the Romanian Cultural Institute in New York
  • Dennis Deletant, Woodrow Wilson Public Policy Fellow (Sept 2022-Sept 2023) Emeritus Professor, School of Slavonic and East European Studies, University College, London
  • Dorin Tudoran, Romanian poet, essayist, journalist, and dissident
  • Melissa Feinberg, Professor of History and Department Chair, Rutgers University
